Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, fondly known as the “King of Bollywood,” will be hosting the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 alongside Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul. The event is scheduled to take place on October 11, 2025, at the spectacular EKA Arena, Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad.
Gujarat to Host Filmfare Awards for the First Time
This year marks a historic shift, as the Filmfare Awards move out of Mumbai to Gujarat for the very first time. The announcement comes after a landmark MoU signed in Gandhinagar between the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) and Worldwide Media Private Limited in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
The deal, inked under Gujarat’s Cinematic Tourism Policy 2022, positions the state as an emerging hub for India’s film and entertainment industry. Prabhav Joshi, Managing Director of TCGL, and Rohit Gopakumar of Worldwide Media sealed the agreement, which is expected to bring global attention to Gujarat’s growing role in cinema and cultural tourism.
The Black Lady Unveiled in Gujarat
As part of the pre-event celebrations, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel unveiled the iconic Filmfare Trophy – the Black Lady. Patel highlighted that under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has achieved remarkable strides in economic, social, and cultural growth, making it an ideal destination for hosting world-class entertainment events.
