Meet MG Cyberster: India’s Fastest MG EV with Scissor Doors & 580 Km Range

MG Cyberster Review: MG Motor has officially stepped into the electric performance car game with its most ambitious product yet — the MG Cyberster, which made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2025. Priced at ₹75 lakh (ex-showroom), the Cyberster isn’t just another EV — it’s a halo product for the brand, designed to grab attention with supercar styling, powerful dual motors, and a tech-laden interior.

Performance: 510 HP, 0-100 in 3.2 Seconds

The MG Cyberster is powered by a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup that produces a whopping 510 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds (MG’s claim), although real-world testing timed it at a still-impressive 3.69 seconds.

The electric sports car’s top speed is rated at 200 km/h, and thanks to launch control and AWD traction, it accelerates with minimal drama — even on damp tracks.

Track-Ready Dynamics

During a short track drive session, the Cyberster showed off its sharp reflexes and excellent grip, aided by its perfect 50:50 weight distribution and Pirelli P-Zero performance tyres. It comes equipped with Brembo brakes, which deliver strong stopping power, though the pedal feel could be improved.

In slalom and autocross tests, the car’s weight was noticeable, but the overall handling remained predictable and confidence-inspiring — more grand tourer than razor-sharp sports car, but still a thrilling drive.

Interior & Features: High-Tech Yet Sporty

Inside, the Cyberster offers a driver-focused cockpit with premium materials, a stylish layout, and a few compromises. Notable highlights include:

Four digital displays including a central instrument cluster and dual side screens, 8-speaker Bose audio system, Dual-zone climate control, Auto LED headlights, Powered seats, 360° camera with ADAS safety features

Battery, Range & Charging

The MG Cyberster packs a 77 kWh NMC battery, said to be the thinnest battery pack in the world at just 110mm. Despite its compact packaging, the EV claims an impressive range of 580 km (as per MG).

Fast charging is also supported, with the ability to go from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes using a 144 kW DC fast charger.

Convertible Roof: Top Down in 10 Seconds

Adding to its weekend sports car vibe is a foldable soft-top roof, which opens or closes in just 10 seconds, even at speeds up to 50 km/h. This makes it one of the rare convertible EVs available in India.
