Ramayana Part 1- There is immense excitement in Bollywood as one of its most ambitious mythological projects, Ramayana Part 1, finally completes its shooting schedule. Headlined by director Nitesh Tiwari, who is renowned for his work, the first part of this grand trilogy sees Ranbir Kapoor essaying the character of Lord Ram. The movie has been creating headlines since its announcement, and now that the shoot of Ramayana Part 1 is done, fans finally have something big to look forward to — a 3-minute first look, which will release on July 3, 2025.
Ramayana Part 1 is the introductory chapter of a cinematic adaptation of the ancient epic that’s in the making. It’s not merely retelling mythology — it’s being built as a multi-part cinematic universe, with every part delving into different arcs of the story with grandeur, emotion, and state-of-the-art visuals.
Director Nitesh Tiwari, who has delivered such blockbusters as Dangal and Chhichhore, is on this project. He’s being aided by producer Namit Malhotra and co-writer Shridhar Raghavan in creating a vision of the Ramayana that will resonate with audiences today but remain faithful to its spiritual origins.
The casting of Ramayana Part 1 has been one of the most widely discussed elements of the endeavor. Here’s a list of the confirmed and reported cast members:
Fans won’t have to wait long to witness the movie in action. Ramayana Part 1 will release a 3-minute teaser officially on July 3, 2025. The first look should present the scale, VFX, character design, and the emotional heart of the narrative.
Besides the teaser, there’s also a 7-minute “vision showreel” that provides a behind-the-scenes look at how the film is being produced. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh uncovered that even as the teaser is out soon, the showreel will be put out closer to the film’s theatrical release on Diwali 2026.
“This glimpse of the ageless saga leaves you agog. Strong emotion: Ramayana Part 1 is not only a film for now, but for the generations that follow,” Taran tweeted on X (formerly Twitter).
When the last scenes of Ramayana Part 1 were canned, there was a warm moment of Ranbir Kapoor embracing co-star Ravi Dubey, and then him feeding cake to director Nitesh Tiwari. It was the end of an arduous and long journey of filming, and the cast was seen visibly emotional about the magnitude and energy of the project.
The shoot reportedly lasted several months and was done on large sets with the help of world-class VFX teams. All these efforts are for providing a mythological experience not yet experienced in Indian cinema.
Though Ramayana Part 1 is ready, the journey continues. Director Nitesh Tiwari and team will start shooting Part 2 in August 2025. The multi-part structure means that every aspect of the epic is deliberated at length — from exile and abduction to the Lanka war and the final return to Ayodhya.
The makers are said to be taking their time to get every aspect just right, instead of rushing the production. Fans are appreciating this approach, expressing that the Ramayana needs “scale, time, and soul.”
Ramayana Part 1 has a grand theatrical release planned for Diwali 2026. The film will probably redefine Indian cinema in the fields of mythological storytelling, visual effects, and box office prospects.
Ramayana Part 1, with the support of a robust cast, emotional narrative, industry-best VFX, and a culturally embedded storyline, may well end up being among the greatest Indian movies of this generation.
As Ramayana Part 1 wraps up shooting and prepares for its first teaser release, the excitement is palpable. Ranbir Kapoor’s transformation into Ram, Nitesh Tiwari’s creative direction, and the makers’ dedication to authenticity signal that this is not just a movie — it’s a cultural milestone.
So put July 3, 2025, in your calendar and be ready to see the first glimpse of Ramayana Part 1 — a movie that may revolutionize the way Indian epics are presented on the big screen for all time to come.
