RCB vs PBKS IPL 2025 Finale: The IPL 2025 has arrived at its nail-biting conclusion with the final showdown between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). This electrifying finale is to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The thrill of this match, however, has been marred by the impending danger of rain, and fans are worried about the destiny of the RCB vs PBKS IPL 2025 finale.
The Ahmedabad city has already witnessed rain interruptions in previous matches, such as Qualifier 2 between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians. Sadly, the rain clouds have not passed away for the final. According to recent weather reports, there are very good chances of scattered rain throughout the day, which may affect the IPL 2025 final.
The prediction indicates rain showers are anticipated to begin in the morning and could persist sporadically until the night and even later, further agitating cricket enthusiasts.
Adding to the suspense, this year’s IPL final does have a reserve day planned for June 4, 2025. This implies that if rain delays action on June 3, the final can resume or continue on the reserve day.
This situation provides supporters and players with some hope that the final can be played out in full and a proper champion declared, albeit rain may delay it.
In order to make sure that the final can be played, BCCI has also extended the cut-off start time for the match until 1:00 AM (June 4, 2025). It means the match can start at as late as 1:00 AM to attempt and get a result on the day of the scheduled match itself.
The IPL has also increased the rain break window of additional time. Before, there was just a one-hour additional time, but for this last one, teams will receive up to two additional hours to complete any stoppages due to rain.
As per the rules of IPL, in the case of a rain-affected match, a result will be valid only if each team faces a minimum of five overs. Thus, even if it rains all night long, the authorities will try to have at least a five-overs-per-side match to determine the winner.
The biggest question in everyone’s mind is: What if rain washes out the entire final, even on the reserve day?
If rain stops even a five-overs-per-side match from being completed by the reserve day (June 4, 2025), the IPL 2025 final will be ruled as a “No Result”, and in an extraordinary twist, both RCB and PBKS will be announced co-winners of IPL 2025.
It would be a first in the history of IPL, both teams sharing the trophy and standing together as co-champions.
Although the concept of joint champions is intriguing, both the RCB and the PBKS fans are keeping their fingers crossed that the rain would ease up and permit a real contest to decide the real IPL 2025 champion. Both teams are full of star players who are desperate to hold up the trophy, and a real game – even a five-over contest – would be much more pleasing than a tie.
